On second album \u003ci\u003eOblique\u003c\/i\u003e, he pushes deeper into rich, cinematic sound design.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eLower, moodier and more expansive than its predecessor, \u003ci\u003eOblique\u003c\/i\u003e moves through cloudy abstractions, submerged rhythms and blurred melodies. \u003ci\u003eLow Times\u003c\/i\u003e opens with maximum pressure, while \u003ci\u003eAfter All\u003c\/i\u003e, \u003ci\u003eSoft Collapse\u003c\/i\u003e and \u003ci\u003eBlackout Dust\u003c\/i\u003e drift through noir atmospheres, buried pulse and dreamlike tension.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe spirit of Jamaican dub still lingers, especially on \u003ci\u003eBombed Suburbs\u003c\/i\u003e, where Augustus Pablo-style melodicism is slowed into a magnetic groove. Closing track \u003ci\u003eAlmost a Structure\u003c\/i\u003e filters rhythm into pure atmosphere.
