Brooklyn-based composer, producer and multi-instrumentalist Jerk presents as night falls / as day breaks, a two-part project brought together as a single, narrative-driven vinyl release tracing the transition from night into day.

Originally conceived as a dual EP cycle, the project unfolds across two contrasting sonic worlds. as night falls explores nocturnal electro-jazz, midnight funk and introspective, groove-led textures, while ‘as day breaks’ shifts toward warmth, clarity and forward motion, capturing the quiet optimism of first light.

Created alongside longtime collaborator and drummer Martin Wade, the music moves fluidly between jazz, soul and electronic influences, forming Jerk’s most cohesive and immersive body of work to date.

Presented as a single LP, the release offers a complete listening experience. Side A journeys through the shadowy, late-night tones of as night falls, while Side B introduces the brighter, more expansive palette of as day breaks. Together, the record forms a continuous arc, a cinematic, emotionally resonant project designed to be experienced in full.
